Charqwan Howse, 26, was shot and killed during a confrontation on the front porch of an apartment at Walker Terrace in the Madison neighborhood of Nashville. The violent encounter followed a call for help after a pregnant woman told a relative she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend, identified as 29-year-old Tony Wray. Howse went with the relative to the apartment to intervene; an argument involved Wray, Howse, the relative and another woman who was present.
Officers arrived just before midnight and found Howse on the sidewalk with critical injuries. He died at the scene after officers provided aid and before the Nashville Fire Department took over. Wray was at the scene armed with a handgun and was taken into custody. After questioning by homicide detectives, Wray was charged with criminal homicide in Howse’s death and additionally charged with two counts of aggravated assault related to his girlfriend and one count of aggravated assault involving another female witness.
Are there witnesses who were at Walker Terrace that night who can provide more details about what happened?
