Francisco Navarrete, 43, was one of two men killed in a sudden early-morning shooting outside Alas Locas Sports Bar in Cleveland, Texas. The shooting occurred on September 7, 2025; Navarrete was flown to a Houston-area hospital and died of his wounds on September 8. Initial reports sometimes refer to him as Fernando Navarrete.
The attack began after closing when a lone man who had arrived around midnight returned and opened fire on patrons gathered on the patio, spraying bullets and even shooting at the building’s front doors. Six people were shot in total; 30-year-old Alexis Jasso was killed at the scene, and the other injured victims, ages 34 to 42, survived with wounds to hands, a shoulder or a leg.
Investigators identified 32-year-old Jose Osman Aguilar Cantillano as the suspected shooter and issued a murder warrant for him. Authorities searched his residence the day after the shooting but did not find him. His wife, 23-year-old Alejandra Marie Valdez Montoya, was arrested that evening on a charge of tampering with evidence. Cantillano is believed to be armed and dangerous and may be traveling in a white full-size construction-style van, possibly headed toward New Orleans or Atlanta.
Anyone who knew Navarrete or who has information about the shooting or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact authorities to help bring justice for Navarrete, for Jasso, and for the survivors.
