On the late evening of August 12, 2025, a large disturbance in the 500 block of Forest Street in Martinsville, Virginia, ended with 39-year-old Crystal Galloway Jordan shot and later dying at Sovah-Martinsville Hospital. A 20-year-old man from Danville also suffered gunshot wounds in the same incident and was reported in serious condition.

Investigators say the melee grew out of an earlier argument in the parking lot of Monogram Snacks. A large group went to confront a smaller group, and during the ensuing fight firearms were brandished and discharged. Authorities believe Jordan may have been trying to de-escalate when she was shot.

In the weeks after the shooting, multiple interviews and evidence collection produced arrests. Eleven people — nine from Danville and two from Henry County — were charged with malicious wounding by mob. Later, three men, Nan Lee Corbett, Micah Aaron Holmes, and Quayam Haristen (spelled Haristston in one report), were arrested and charged with first-degree murder; complaints allege Holmes shot Jordan in the shoulder causing her to fall, Corbett shot her multiple times while she was on the ground, and Haristston also shot her. The investigation was described as ongoing.

If anyone witnessed the events on Forest Street that night or has information about the confrontation or the people involved, please share what is known with investigators.
