Raykel Thompson, 25, was shot in Saint-Louis in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025. ShotSpotter picked up gunfire near the 1600 block of Biddle Street in the Carr Square neighborhood just after 1 a.m. Responding officers found a vehicle stopped against a fire hydrant and discovered Thompson in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound; she was barely conscious and was taken to a local hospital in critical and unstable condition.

Thompson died on Monday, October 20, 2025, when she succumbed to her injuries, and the death has been classified as a homicide. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Division is handling the investigation and has asked the public for information. No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested, and the motive remains unknown.
