A welfare check on Monday, October 13, 2025, resulted in the discovery of 45-year-old Delilah Harris, a Black woman, dead inside her Windsor Village apartment on Woodstone Road in Clinton, Mississippi. Responding officers found Harris with multiple gunshot wounds. The Hinds County Interim Coroner, Jeramiah Howard, later confirmed the cause of death as those multiple gunshot wounds.

Although Harris was found at her Clinton apartment, records showed she also had an address in Byram. The Clinton Police Department opened a homicide investigation that quickly focused on a person of interest. By Thursday of the same week, 40-year-old Antonio Trenell Myles of Byram, identified as Harris’s boyfriend, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. At Myles’s initial appearance in Clinton Municipal Court a judge set bond at $1,000,000 for the murder charge and $75,000 for the weapon possession charge.
