Danny Lopez, a 16-year-old Latino, was fatally shot in North Hollywood just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025. County medical examiner records list the manner of death as homicide and the cause as multiple gunshot wounds to the torso; he was pronounced dead at a hospital not long after the attack.

The shooting occurred near Vineland Avenue and Chandler Boulevard, a short walk from East Valley High School. Neighbors reported what they described as an ambush in the street. Investigators say two suspects approached Lopez, one fired, and both fled on foot into nearby blocks. Detectives canvassed the area for surveillance video and witnesses and a sizable police presence was reported at the scene.

By late October 2025 no arrests had been announced, no public suspect descriptions or motive were released, and the LAPD homicide investigation remained open. Did anyone in the North Hollywood area that night see something that could help investigators?
