Ronald Neville, 53, was found shot to death inside a room at the Motel 6 on Wallingford Street in south Charlotte on the evening of October 10, 2025. Officers were dispatched about 5:32 p.m.; MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds and detectives opened a homicide investigation in the 4800 block of Wallingford.

Investigators describe a brief, violent break-in by three men who forced their way into Neville’s room, with gunfire erupting within seconds. Surveillance footage captured the suspects’ movements before and after the shooting; one man fled carrying a backpack that did not belong to him and court documents say it contained about $100 worth of items. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police identified 32-year-old Ronnie Fewell as a suspect and arrested him the following week; he faces felony murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy charges and is being held without bond. Detectives said multiple people were involved and the investigation to identify additional suspects is ongoing.

Did anyone in the area see suspicious activity near the Motel 6/Studio 6 on Wallingford Street that evening?
