Jerry Michael Davidson, a 55-year-old White man, was found fatally shot in New Canton, Tennessee, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Deputies from the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office discovered the body and described the incident as appearing isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community.

Investigators soon identified a person of interest as Christopher Caleb Mullins. The following day law enforcement located and took Mullins into custody in Bristol, Virginia; he was being held awaiting extradition to Tennessee to face charges in connection with the killing. Authorities have not released a motive or detailed the circumstances of the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
