A home invasion on Grammont Street in Monroe, Louisiana, ended in a triple homicide in the early morning hours of October 28, 2025. Inside the residence were found 25-year-old Jaborris Simpson, his 2-year-old daughter Jhersi Simpson, and 27-year-old Jamal Bosley, all fatally shot during the attack.
Within hours police identified and arrested a prime suspect, 24-year-old Travis Tyrone Payton, who was booked on three counts of first-degree murder, home invasion, and criminal conspiracy. Authorities said Payton had 11 prior arrests, three convictions, and was on probation at the time. A few days later, 24-year-old Cameron James Criner was also taken into custody; police described his criminal history as extensive and said he is believed to have played a significant role. Officials said the killings appear linked to a dispute that happened days earlier, and the case is being prepared for a grand jury.
The victims’ families have spoken of profound grief and a long legal process ahead. If anyone knew Jhersi or has information about the Grammont Street attack, please share what you know with investigators.
