A large Halloween party on Dixon Drive just outside Maxton in Robeson County, North Carolina, ended in deadly violence in the early hours of October 25, 2025. Deputies were responding to a loud music complaint about 1:15 a.m. when 911 calls reported gunfire; by the time officers arrived, more than 150 people had fled from what authorities estimate was a crowd of roughly 300 attendees. Jessie Locklear Jr., 49, and 16-year-old Nehemiah Locklear were pronounced dead at the scene; both were identified as being from Lumberton.

Investigators say 13 people were shot, with the injured ranging in age from 17 to 43 and several hospitalized with life-threatening wounds. The sheriff’s office described a chaotic, hastily organized gathering and said the violence appeared to stem from a confrontation between two groups. Authorities reported multiple shooters and multiple weapons, have identified persons of interest, and urged witnesses and partygoers to share videos or tips to help identify those responsible.

No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains active. If anyone attended the party or has video or information about the shooting, please come forward to assist the investigation.
