On November 9, 2025, 30-year-old Jalen Marquez Warren was shot inside a home on the 1300 block of Daja Lane in Grand Prairie, Texas. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene after a dispute between Warren and another man escalated to gunfire. Investigators say the two men knew one another and that the shooting grew out of a personal argument rather than a random neighborhood attack.
Police identified 25-year-old Courtlon Allen of Fort Worth as the person they believe fired the shots. Allen was found a short distance from the house hours after the shooting and taken into custody; he has been charged with murder and held on a $1 million bond. Officials say no additional suspects have been announced and there is no indication others were directly involved.
Warren is remembered as a South Grand Prairie High School graduate with roots in Crossett, Arkansas, who was known for his warmth, loyalty, and willingness to help at school events. Funeral arrangements through Golden Gate Funeral Home list viewing on November 21, 2025, with services and burial the next day at Antioch Life Park in Grand Prairie.
If anyone knew Jalen or has information about the events on Daja Lane that night, please share what you know.
