Pedro Nettles, 33, was killed during a violent home invasion in Maple Heights on the evening of Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He had been at his grandmother’s house on Libby Road when three masked men in dark clothing forced their way inside shortly before 10 p.m., according to police. Emergency dispatchers first got a call about a woman shot in the hand; officers found Nettles and his 69-year-old grandmother both with gunshot wounds. Nettles was taken to Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital and pronounced dead; his grandmother was treated at MetroHealth Medical Center and described as stable.

Investigators say the intruders demanded money and drugs, indicating the address may have been targeted. Gunfire erupted during the confrontation; police believe one of the assailants was also shot before all three fled on foot. Detectives documented blood drops and drug evidence inside the house, and investigators from the Maple Heights Police Detective Bureau and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the scene and followed tips from the community.

No arrests had been announced as of mid-November 2025 and the three suspects remained unidentified. Did anyone in the Maple Heights area see suspicious activity near Libby Road that night or recognize the description of the fleeing men?
