On the evening of November 2, 2025, gunfire inside a home on North Westover Drive in Salisbury, Maryland, left 44-year-old Dhikiyah Sanika Jones dead and a 23-year-old man believed to be her son wounded. Maryland State Police troopers arrived shortly before 5 p.m.; both victims were taken to a nearby hospital and Jones later died of her injuries while her son was treated.
Investigators concluded the shooting was a targeted attack. A few hours later officers located a suspect at a residence on Jefferson Street. A confrontation with Salisbury Police resulted in the suspect, identified as 40-year-old David Evans of Salisbury, being fatally shot. A handgun was recovered nearby and the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division opened an inquiry into the officer-involved shooting.
No arrests have been announced in Jones’s death and the motive has not been disclosed. Does anyone have information about Dhikiyah Sanika Jones, the incident on North Westover Drive, or the events that followed?
