On the evening of Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the Fairland neighborhood of Silver Spring was the scene of two related shooting incidents that left 20-year-old Jadyn Mekhi Brown dead. Police first responded at 7:54 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Robey Terrace and found a conscious, alert man with a gunshot wound who told officers he had been shot near Aston Manor Drive before running to Robey Terrace for help; that victim was taken to a local hospital.

A canvass of the area later produced a second scene. At about 9:06 p.m., a K-9 unit located the body of Jadyn Mekhi Brown in the 13800 block of Aston Manor Drive; he had apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy. Homicide detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating. As of late November 2025, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested, and police had not determined whether the non-fatal shooting on Robey Terrace was connected to Brown’s death.
