London Brown was 14 and a freshman at Twinsburg High School when she left her family’s apartment late morning on November 15, 2025. Her mother called 911 at about 11:48 a.m., reporting that London had gone out to take the trash, had not returned, and that a firearm was missing from the home; the mother told dispatchers she believed London had been suicidal and might have accessed the gun.

Shortly before 12:36 p.m., a resident near Twinsburg High School reported hearing gunfire behind the school. Officers searching woods northwest of the school found London in the 10800 block of Ravenna Road area with an apparent gunshot wound; the Summit County Medical Examiner pronounced her dead at the scene at about 1:40 p.m. A 15-year-old boy emerging from woods near the Twinsburg Community Center was taken into custody that afternoon. Police say evidence indicated he was responsible; he was charged with murder and tampering with evidence and ordered held pending a pretrial hearing.

School officials confirmed the community’s shock: counselors were made available, and a candlelight vigil drew hundreds to Liberty Park. Authorities say there is no broader public threat and that the juvenile in custody is the sole suspect. The exact sequence of events in the woods, how London was shot, and the connection to the missing home firearm remain under investigation.

If anyone knew London or saw the area behind Twinsburg High School that morning, can you share what you remember?
