Brodarrien K. Tate was a 16-year-old male from Spartanburg County who died after being shot in the parking lot of The Bryant apartments on Bryant Road on the evening of November 24, 2025. Deputies were called just before 8 p.m. to 350 Bryant Road and found two people with gunshot wounds; the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified Brodarrien as the juvenile who succumbed to his injuries. A 34-year-old bystander who tried to intervene was shot in the leg and was taken to a hospital, where officials said that person was expected to recover.

Law enforcement secured the scene, interviewed witnesses, and collected evidence from the parking lot and nearby areas. Investigators launched a full probe but, as of November 25, 2025, had not announced arrests, identified suspects, or released a motive. Authorities noted gunfire had been reported at the complex about a week earlier and are examining whether that incident is connected, but no definitive link has been made.

Anyone who was at The Bryant apartments that evening or has information that could help identify those responsible is asked to contact the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office investigator handling the case.
