Deonte Wright, 20, was killed in a late-night shooting at a home on Lilly Street in Bristol on November 23, 2025. Police were called just after midnight and found three people shot inside the residence; Wright and 21-year-old Lexy Coleman were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim, 22-year-old Kevin Collin, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Reports say Collin was shot multiple times, placed in a medically induced coma and underwent surgery in which part of his skull was removed to relieve pressure from a severe brain injury. Authorities identified 18-year-old Elijah Khalil Campbell of Bristol, Virginia, as a suspect; police say he and the victims were acquaintances and that Campbell entered the Lilly Street home shortly before the shooting. Campbell surrendered to Bristol, Virginia police and was taken into custody on numerous charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He is being held pending extradition to Tennessee while detectives gather witness statements and evidence.
