A manager at a Wendy’s on Warwick Boulevard was shot and killed during his late shift on December 16, 2025. Thirty-one-year-old Dewand L. McGowan was found with a gunshot wound in the restaurant’s parking lot around 10 p.m.; first responders attempted aid but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police secured the area and searched for evidence as detectives began piecing together what happened.

As of late December 2025, no suspects’ names or arrests had been released and the investigation remained active. McGowan was remembered by friends as laid-back and affectionate; he was the son of John Beamon and had lost his mother, Kyna McGowan, to gun violence in 2023. Does anyone who was near the Warwick Boulevard Wendy’s that night have information that could help investigators?
