Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on December 7, 2025, a shooting in the 500 block of Coastal Dreams Avenue in North Las Vegas killed 15-year-old Jasiri Weusi. The shooting occurred in the driveway of a home where a gathering was reportedly taking place; witnesses said a group had been turned away shortly before gunfire sent people running and left bullets lodged in nearby houses.

First responders found three people with gunshot wounds. Jasiri Weusi and 20-year-old Demar Cole were pronounced dead; a third victim was taken to University Medical Center and later listed in stable condition. The Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled Weusi’s and Cole’s deaths homicides from gunshot wounds. North Las Vegas police opened a homicide investigation and said the shooter or shooters had fled before officers arrived; no arrests were reported in the days immediately after the attack. The community held a vigil for the teen who had recently moved to the valley.
