On the night of December 7, 2025, 17-year-old Keighan Robert Crist was shot in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the Bailey Lake parking lot in Burleson, Texas. Officers arrived after reports of gunfire at about 11:33 p.m.; first responders transported Keighan to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

A second 17-year-old was wounded in the leg and taken to hospital; that survivor provided investigators with an account. Detectives say the shooting erupted during a narcotics transaction involving the two victims and three other individuals, and witnesses described a sudden pop followed by rapid, high-caliber shots. One suspect, 17-year-old Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, was detained at his home, admitted involvement during questioning, and was booked on charges including capital murder and aggravated robbery. Authorities later said four teenagers were charged in connection with the case.

Keighan, born in Fort Worth, had a passion for baseball and played catcher. He was due to graduate in January and hoped to start his own business. The Burleson Police Department described the incident as isolated criminal activity. Did anyone in the community have contact with Keighan or the other teens in the days before December 7?
