A shooting on the morning of November 30, 2025, in the 1600 block of Northwest 9th Avenue in Amarillo, Texas, left two people dead. Among the victims was 42-year-old Andy Wayne Curtis Galloway, Sr., who was shot during an incident that prompted a large police response and deployment of the Amarillo Police Department’s SWAT team. An 18-year-old, Chrisavion Deontay Green, also died in the same event, and the Potter County District Attorney’s Office is involved in the investigation.

Galloway was born June 14, 1983, in Amarillo, the oldest of fourteen children of Sonia Galloway and Andrew Miles, Sr. A former Palo Duro High School football player, he was remembered by family and friends by nicknames including Dead Mouth and BamBam, and for his heavily creased jeans, weightlifting, boxing and a fondness for sugar water. He was a father and grandfather and described as a protective figure within his large extended family.

Police identified a teen suspect, Tavon Lin Ammons, and took him into custody on charges of two counts of murder; the case is to be handled in Potter County. Funeral arrangements for Galloway were handled by Golden Gate Mortuary with services at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and Emmanuel Church of Amarillo in mid-December 2025.

If anyone knew Andy Galloway or has information about the shooting, please come forward with what you remember.
