Danika Jade Troy, 14, was reported missing from her Pace, Florida, home after she failed to return the night of November 30, 2025. Investigators say she was lured to a secluded wooded area off Kimberly Road, shot multiple times, then doused with gasoline and set on fire. Her remains were found by a passerby on December 2, 2025; identification came from the shoes she wore and an electric scooter she had ridden to the site.
Two teenage schoolmates were arrested and later indicted on first-degree premeditated murder charges: 16-year-old Gabriel Williams and 14-year-old Kimahri Blevins. Prosecutors announced plans to try both as adults. Police allege the killing followed a dispute on social media and that Danika thought she was meeting the 16-year-old, whom her mother said she had a crush on.
A third person, Mitchell Eddins, was arrested on charges of petty theft and failure to report a death after officers say he stole Danika’s scooter from the scene and took it home; deputies later recovered the scooter. The firearm believed to have been used was seized from one of the murder suspects’ homes. Anyone with information about Danika or her last movements is asked to come forward.
