A 19-year-old man was fatally shot in eastern Albany on the morning of November 29, 2025. Authorities identified the victim as Jabion Rashad Jackson, an African American male discovered about 7:00 a.m. near the intersection of South West Road and East Broad Avenue, close to an apartment complex at 316 Carriage Lane. Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler and responding officers pronounced Jackson dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head.

Family members told investigators Jackson had been in a dispute with someone and ran outside the residence shortly before he was found. Investigators said the shooting followed a verbal or physical altercation. As of the latest reports, no arrests or named suspects have been announced in Jackson’s death; detectives were canvassing the area and interviewing potential witnesses.
