A birthday party in Greenwood turned deadly late on January 10, 2026. What began as a large gathering at a home in the Cherry Tree Walk neighborhood, in the 900 block of Bent Branch Circle, erupted into an argument between armed individuals and gunfire broke out among the crowd. Police arrived about 11:30 p.m. and found multiple people with apparent gunshot wounds.
Four people were shot that night. Virender Singh, 38, of Greenwood, was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and later died from his injuries. Another man, later identified by the coroner as Kuldeep Singh of Greenwood, was pronounced dead at the home. Two other victims survived; one was treated at Eskenazi Hospital and reported stable, and a 23-year-old arrived at St. Francis Hospital after being driven there by a friend and said he had been shot at the Bent Branch Circle location.
Autopsies were performed while investigators worked to determine how the violence unfolded and who fired which shots. No arrests or charges had been announced in the initial reports; witnesses were asked to contact investigators. Does anyone have information about that night or remember seeing activity around Bent Branch Circle after 11:30 p.m. on January 10?
