Michael Shannon Chriceol, 56, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Friday, January 9, 2026, at a residence on Highway 583 in Rayville, Louisiana. Deputies from the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at about 3:40 a.m. and found Chriceol deceased from a gunshot wound.

Officials describe the shooting as an isolated incident and say there is no immediate danger to the public.
