On January 9, 2026, 33-year-old Quentin Moore, a Black content creator and member of the Cedarbluff community, was shot dead in a multi-location killing spree that left six people dead in Clay County, Mississippi. Authorities say all victims were shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. The shootings occurred across four locations and investigators describe them as targeted rather than random.

Law enforcement arrested a family member, 24-year-old Daricka Moore, about five hours after the first shootings at a police roadblock.
