An argument over a social media slight escalated to deadly violence in Baton Rouge on January 8, 2026. Eighteen-year-old Kassidy Jackson, a young mother and hairstylist described by family as sweet, intelligent and playful, was shot inside her home on Columbus Dunn Drive and later died at a local hospital. She was at home with others, including her girlfriend and a child, when the confrontation occurred.
Police say 19-year-old Paulasia Banks, reportedly upset after being blocked by Jackson on TikTok, arrived at the house with two men to confront her. According to accounts, Banks and the men forced their way inside; a struggle followed and a gunshot was heard. Banks and the two men left the scene. Banks later turned herself in and told investigators she had been pushed out of the house and fired a shot through the door that struck Jackson. Banks was arrested and booked on first-degree murder and aggravated burglary; investigators are still examining the roles of the two men who accompanied her.
Does anyone have information about who the two men were or saw the events at the Columbus Dunn Drive home that afternoon?
