Luis Aguilera-Ramirez, 28, was found with gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue North in Texas City just before 4 a.m. on January 6, 2026. Police pronounced him dead at the scene after their response that morning.

The Texas City Police Department identified and arrested 22-year-old Edward Arispe; he was charged with murder and booked into the Galveston County Jail with bond set at $500,000. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
