On January 3, 2026, around 2:10 a.m., 27-year-old Ronez Proctor of Waldorf was fatally shot in the parking lot of a banquet hall in the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills. The shooting followed a dispute that began inside the venue and continued outside. Two other men, 33-year-old Pierre Davis and 26-year-old Kevon Medley Williams, both from Washington, D.C., also died in the exchange of gunfire.

Prince George’s County investigators say surveillance and ballistic evidence indicate 39-year-old Antonio Lancaster of Landover was present with Davis and that Lancaster allegedly began firing at Proctor and Medley Williams. Medley Williams and Davis are believed to have returned fire; Proctor, described as an innocent bystander attempting to render aid to someone who had been shot, was killed in the crossfire. Lancaster fled but was later captured in Fairfax County and charged with first- and second-degree murder in Proctor’s death, plus two counts of attempted murder and multiple firearm offenses; he is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

Proctor was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 26. Friends recalled his interests in health, fitness, and cooking. Detectives say the parties knew one another and continue to investigate motive. Did anyone at the banquet hall that night see how the dispute started or recognize who fired first?
