Michael Thomas, 46, was shot to death at his Bridgeport, Texas, home on Trinity Circle during a domestic dispute on the night of Sunday, February 1, 2026. Deputies from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office were called after Thomas’s father reported that his daughter-in-law had shot his son. Officers found Thomas deceased inside the house and took 45-year-old Sandy Michael Williams into custody on the porch without incident.

According to Williams’s statements to investigators, a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation in which she says Thomas pulled her to the floor by her ponytail. She told investigators he went upstairs afterward; she retrieved a gun, followed him and shot him. During questioning she reportedly acknowledged that her intent matched her actions and said she hoped to kill him. Williams was booked into the Wise County Jail and has been charged with murder.
