An 18-year-old man, Matthew Milner, was fatally shot in Woodstock, Georgia, on the evening of January 26, 2026. Police were called to the Riverstock Apartments on Arnold Mill Road after a 911 report of a shooting at about 5:30 p.m.; Milner received emergency aid at the scene and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died.

Investigators declared the case a homicide and say the shooting appears to have been targeted rather than random. Officers found a large quantity of cash and illegal narcotics in the apartment Milner shared with his mother, and scene evidence indicated a gunfight occurred. The Woodstock Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are involved; there had been no public identification of suspects or arrests as of early February 2026.
