Conner James Drum, a 32-year-old Caucasian man, was shot and killed at a residence in the 1100 block of SW Tara Place in Lenoir, North Carolina, on the morning of January 21, 2026. Officers from the Lenoir Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at about 9:30 a.m.; Drum was found with a gunshot wound, taken to a local hospital, and died of his injuries.

Police identified 34-year-old Preston Kelly Page of Granite Falls as a suspect and arrested him the same day. Page has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Caldwell County Detention Center without bond.
