A shooting on the evening of February 17, 2026, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, left 4-year-old Jakolby Clifton and his 19-year-old half-brother Jamareon Kimble dead. The shooting occurred at a home on Frank Street after an argument between Kimble and another man escalated into gunfire. Responding officers arrived about 7:40 p.m. and found two men and the child with gunshot wounds; neighbors reported hearing at least eight shots and saw attempts to save the boy.

Investigators say the fight began inside the residence and spilled outside, with continued shooting. Jakolby was in the home and was struck by the gunfire. Police arrested 34-year-old Cedrick Creighton and charged him with two counts of murder, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes; Creighton was on supervised release at the time, having been released from prison the previous October.

Relatives and community leaders have described the family as devastated; a pastor handling funeral arrangements said the family lacks insurance and has set up a GoFundMe for expenses. The pastor also said Jamareon may have been defending his mother during the altercation. If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information about what led to the violence on Frank Street, please share what is known.
