A domestic shooting on a Sunday in Tonopah, Arizona, on February 8, 2026, left 13-year-old Angel Perez and his mother, Guadalupe Lupita Niebla Perez, dead. The family was traveling to their property near Indian School Road and 439th Avenue when an altercation escalated and a man identified by relatives as Angel’s stepfather opened fire on family members.

Angel reportedly tried to protect his mother and was shot and killed. His mother died at the scene. A 13-year-old sister, Emma, was critically injured after being shot three times while shielding younger siblings; an 11-year-old sibling called 911. Deputies found multiple victims and the suspected shooter was also injured and taken to hospital. Officials say there are no outstanding suspects, but the stepfather’s name and any arrest or charge details have not been released and the investigation is ongoing.

Does anyone have information about the family or the events near Indian School Road and 439th Avenue that evening?
