Guadalupe Lupita Perez, 44, was found dead in her Tonopah, Arizona, home on the evening of February 8, 2026. The discovery shocked the small desert community; friends and family remember her for warmth and kindness.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation and conducted evidence collection and interviews with people who last saw her alive. Initial public updates were sparse, and the case prompted local anxiety and speculation while investigators worked.

Nearly a month after the death, authorities arrested a suspect who was known to the victim.
