Late on the night of Sunday, February 8, 2026, 34-year-old Priscilla Kee of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, was shot in the parking lot of the Kirkwood Adams Community Center at Eleventh and Hamilton streets. Police arrived shortly after midnight; Kee was found with gunshot wounds and taken to ECU Health North Hospital, where she died of her injuries.
Authorities arrested 56-year-old Willie Lee Holmes of Roanoke Rapids near the scene, reporting they saw him running from the community center and later found a firearm on him. Holmes was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and was held at the Halifax County Detention Center without bond. Police said the shooting followed an argument between Holmes and Kee.
Priscilla, known as Twinkie, was born January 22, 1991, and was a mother of three. She worked at Kapstone Manufacturing and had recently earned a welding certificate. Does anyone who knew Priscilla or was at the community center that night have information to share?
