On March 6, 2026, at about 9:50 p.m., 34-year-old Jackie Hammer Rhea Ogle was shot and killed in the parking lot of an Exxon on Chapman Highway in the southern part of Knox County. Deputies found Ogle with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for autopsy.

Witnesses identified 38-year-old Christopher Bryan Greer as the shooter, saying he fired multiple times and then fled in a black truck. One witness followed Greer to a nearby residence and contacted authorities; a brief standoff ended with Greer taken into custody and a handgun recovered. Two other people at the residence told investigators Greer had confessed that he had just shot and killed someone. Greer was charged with first-degree murder. The motive has not been disclosed.

Ogle, known as Hammer, is survived by his daughter Aliza Rhea, his parents Naomi and Dewayne Ogle, and the mother of his child, Ashley Rismiller. Does anyone who knew Jackie or saw activity near the Chapman Highway Exxon that night have information to share?
