On the night of February 25, 2026, 37-year-old Henry McClean Jr. was shot to death at a residence on Booker Place in Pahokee, Florida, alongside 40-year-old Francisco Pacheco. Authorities say the killings were the opening incidents in a spree carried out by 44-year-old Charles McCloud Jr.

According to investigators, after the double homicide McCloud fired at another home, shot and wounded 54-year-old Anthony Brown at a convenience store, then returned to one of the crime scenes and drove his black GMC SUV into a Palm Beach County deputy, launching the deputy about 40 feet. McCloud exited the vehicle armed; the wounded deputy drew his service weapon and, with backup fire from another deputy, fatally shot McCloud. The injured deputy was hospitalized with serious but survivable wounds.

McClean, a Pahokee native and father of four, was known to the suspect, the sister said; McCloud’s brother described recent losses and possible mental health struggles as factors the family found confusing. Motive remains under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the State Attorney’s Office and the Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Division.

Did anyone in Pahokee know Henry McClean Jr. or have information about his relationship with Charles McCloud Jr.?
