On the morning of Sunday, February 22, 2026, a late-night gathering on Moseley Avenue in Macon, Georgia, turned deadly. Around 3:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to multiple reports of a shooting and found 25-year-old Jordan Gardner, along with Charleston Burnett, 25, and Willie Cain, 26, dead at the scene from gunshot wounds. The weekend had seen multiple violent shootings across Macon that left four people dead and nine others injured.

A person of interest was quickly identified. Twenty-year-old Julius Milner of Macon was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and was charged with three counts of murder and five counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shootings; he is being held at the Bibb County Jail without bond. Gardner, known as Jordan JD Duane Gardner Sr., was a father of four. More than 200 people gathered at Southwest High School for a balloon release to honor the three victims. A public viewing for Gardner was held March 4, 2026, with a celebration of life and interment at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery the following day.
