Mysun Unique Jones, a 20-year-old man from Enfield, North Carolina, was killed on April 1, 2026, when gunfire struck a home on Liberty Street. Reports place the shooting shortly before 3 p.m. at 210 Liberty Street, where at least two people were shot; Jones died at the scene and another person was wounded. Funeral notices and memorial listings confirmed his death and the community’s grief.

Authorities issued a lookout for a red Kia Soul believed connected to the shooting. Nash County deputies located a matching vehicle on Interstate 95; an attempted stop became a high-speed chase through the Goldrock community into Rocky Mount, with speeds topping 100 miles per hour before the car crashed near Goldrock Road and Homestead Road. The two men in the vehicle fled; deputies later found driver Clarence Dominique Atkins Jr. hiding under a mobile home and passenger Marion Randolph Hodge III in the attic of an abandoned residence.

By April 3, arrest warrants and a State Bureau of Investigation statement reported both Atkins and Hodge had been charged in Jones’s killing. Atkins had already faced charges tied to the chase and alleged drug possession, and Hodge faced charges including resisting, breaking and entering, and injury to real property. The homicide investigation remained in its early stages and additional charges could be filed. Does anyone have information about Mysun Jones, his movements that day, or the shooting at 210 Liberty Street?
