Shortly before 5:30 a.m. on March 28, 2026, deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 8500 block of 64th Avenue in Wabasso, just outside Vero Beach. Officers found 79-year-old T.H. Robertson suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was treated on scene and taken to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The victim is also identified in some reports as T.H. Robertson Taylor. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation, collected evidence at the scene and appealed to the public for help, asking anyone who was nearby that morning — including early-morning delivery drivers — to contact detectives. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced.
