In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, shots were fired inside a residence in the 1900 block of Rafes Way in Beaumont. Officers who responded around 7:45 a.m. found 31-year-old Joseph Manuel inside the home; he had been fatally shot.

Police investigators developed a description of a possible suspect vehicle and used the city’s license plate reader system to locate it in the 5400 block of Pine Street. That led to the arrest the same day of 17-year-old Bryson Parkerson of Beaumont, who was charged with tampering with evidence and is being held on a $125,000 bond. Video review and witness interviews later identified 24-year-old Corey Comeaux; a murder warrant was issued and he was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Harris County on April 8, 2026.

Beaumont police say they believe others may have been involved and that additional charges are possible as the investigation continues. If anyone has information about Joseph Manuel’s death, please contact the Beaumont Police Department or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers.
