On April 25, 2026, Randolph Randy E. Corrigan, a 61-year-old Costco employee, was fatally shot in the store’s Strongsville, Ohio, parking lot just before 6 p.m. According to reports, Corrigan approached 22-year-old customer Christian Bryant as the man attempted to enter the store carrying a handgun with a visible drum magazine in his pocket. Witnesses say the encounter escalated when Bryant drew a black semi-automatic handgun and Corrigan produced a pocket knife; Bryant then fired one shot that caused Corrigan to fall and subsequently fired multiple additional shots at the fallen employee.
First responders found Corrigan with multiple gunshot wounds; bystanders attempted first aid but Corrigan was pronounced dead at a hospital. Investigators recovered thirteen .40-caliber shell casings and a Springfield XD-40 handgun with a 37-round drum magazine at the scene. Bryant, a truck driver from Fort Worth, Texas, was taken into custody there and has been charged with murder; bond was set at $5 million. During arrest and at his initial court appearance he said a white man approached him with a knife and he defended himself. The investigation is ongoing.
Are there witnesses who saw the confrontation or the moments just before it who can add details to the timeline?
