Tynice Friday-Washington, 44, was killed on April 10, 2026, inside her Cypress-area home on Cypress Falls Drive in northwest Harris County. Deputies say a young child called 911 late that night and reported his father had shot his mother; deputies arrived shortly after 10 p.m. and found Tynice dead at the scene.
Investigators reported that Tynice had recently filed for divorce from her husband, Keith Washington, and that family members had told authorities she feared him because of his recent behavior. The younger child tried to help but deputies said Tynice was already beyond help.
Authorities located Washington nearby after he fled, cornered him on a dead-end road, and after a hours-long standoff in which he reportedly fired from inside his truck, he surrendered. He was evaluated by EMS, interviewed by homicide detectives, booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with murder; reports said he was being held without bond with a May 15, 2026 court date. Court records cited an earlier 2019 arrest alleging he choked Tynice, a case that was later dropped.
If anyone knew Tynice or witnessed events in the Cypress Falls Drive area that night, can you share information that might help fill in the timeline?
