Wilbert Corona was 25 and living in Elmhurst, Queens, when he was last seen just before Christmas 1995. His remains were discovered in January 1996 in a wooded area off the westbound side of the Northern State Parkway, about half a mile west of Veterans Memorial Highway in Suffolk County. The discovery turned his unexplained absence into a homicide investigation that has remained cold.

Investigators have periodically reopened the case and asked the public for help. One publicly mentioned lead is Corona’s cousin, Darvin Beltre, identified as one of the last people known to have seen him alive; authorities believe Beltre may be living in the Dominican Republic. No arrests have been announced and no suspects have been formally named.

If anyone knew Wilbert, saw him in late 1995, or has information about his movements or contacts around that time, please come forward.
