Heather Broadus, 27, was found fatally shot on the sidewalk in front of a residence on the 300 block of East 56th Street in Long Beach, California. Her body was discovered by a passerby on the morning of August 30, 2010; investigators believe she may have been shot the previous evening. The motive remains unclear and police have not identified any suspects.
Detectives conducted an extensive investigation but reported no arrests or clear leads. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, and the Long Beach Police Department has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward, including via anonymous tip lines. Small pieces of information could be crucial—did anyone see Heather in the neighborhood on August 29 or 30?
