A homicide investigation is underway in Dunnellon after 43-year-old Andres Bahamon-Prada was last seen on May 7, 2026, and reported missing to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on May 16. Deputies searching the residence he shared with his son found a scene with shattered glass, a shell casing, apparent bloodstains, freshly disturbed dirt and a large rolled-up carpet that had been buried and contained human remains. Forensic teams were working to confirm identification.

Authorities focused on Bahamon-Prada’s 25-year-old son, Andres Bahamon. Court documents say the suspect’s grandmother reported a confession in which he allegedly said his father was dead and in hell, and the suspect’s mother in Germany received and forwarded a photograph that appeared to show the deceased body. Bahamon was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and is being held at the Marion County Jail without bond; he has been identified as a person of interest in the homicide.

The victim’s silver 2007 Infiniti M35 was also missing and may be important to the inquiry. Does anyone in Dunnellon have information about Bahamon-Prada, the missing Infiniti, or movements around the residence in early May 2026?
