On the evening of May 17, 2026, a fire in a commercial building in the 1100 block of Sonora Avenue in Glendale, California, led investigators to two dead bodies. One victim was identified as 59-year-old Mariyan Khostravizadeh; the Los Angeles County medical examiner ruled Khostravizadeh’s death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds. The second person was identified as 66-year-old Edward Zadeh; the medical examiner deferred the cause of Zadeh’s death pending further examination.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Khostravizadeh and Zadeh, nor have they released a motive or a clear sequence of events tying the shooting(s) to the subsequent fire. The Glendale Police Department is actively investigating, and no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with Khostravizadeh’s death.

Does anyone have information about activity at the Sonora Avenue building on May 17 or about either victim that could help the ongoing investigation?
