Adrian Clay Wrice, 50, was shot and killed after a family dispute in Hesperia, California, on the night of May 11, 2026. The shooting occurred about 10:45 p.m. in the 9200 block of Second Avenue. San Bernardino County deputies found Wrice critically injured; he was given aid on scene, airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators identified the suspect as Wrice’s younger brother, 30-year-old Talib Elisha Venegas, who left the scene before officers arrived. An arrest warrant was issued, and Venegas was located and taken into custody the next day without incident; he was booked at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held without bail. Authorities say both brothers had prior criminal histories, but details of the argument that led to the shooting have not been released.

Anyone with information about the night of May 11 or the relationship between the two brothers is asked to come forward.
