On June 5, 2026, deputies answered a 4:44 a.m. call to an automotive and cycle shop at 6612 69th Avenue North in Pinellas Park. Forced entry into the building revealed 50-year-old Craig Allan Beeth dead on the floor from a single gunshot wound to the head. Detectives opened a homicide investigation.

Investigators say the focus shifted to 44-year-old Robert Leon Worthington of Clearwater, who had been at the business with Beeth. Detectives allege Worthington and Beeth argued, Worthington produced a handgun and fired one fatal shot while surveillance footage reportedly shows Beeth trying to retreat. After the shooting Worthington allegedly fled on a motorcycle; Thomas Eldridge Killgo, another man at the scene, called 911 after Worthington left.

Worthington was located and arrested on June 6, 2026, and charged with first-degree murder. Court records cited text messages Worthington sent earlier saying he was homicidal and suicidal, and investigators cite witness statements, shop surveillance and footage tracking the motorcycle in support of the case. Anyone with information about Beeth, Worthington, Killgo or the events that morning is asked to come forward.
